Campaign Theme Announced

My campaign theme for my run for Governor-Elect, and if elected my theme for my Governorship will be...

-One new member per Kiwanian
-One more service hour per person
-One more club per Division (SLP or Kiwanis Club)

Oro Valley Kiwanis Club Presents and Endorses Michael Iafrato for Governor-Elect

The Board of Directors and the Members of the Kiwanis Club of Oro Valley are pleased to present and endorse Michael A. Iafrato for the Office of Governor Elect of the Southwest District. Michael meets the qualifications set forth in the by-laws to serve as Governor. Michael is also very qualified to lead the organization he loves and has dedicated his life to for the past 20 years.

In 1993, Michael started his college career by joining the Saint Leo College Circle K Club. In his time there he was Club Treasurer, 3 term Lt. Governor, District Corresponding Secretary and an International Trustee Candidate.

Michael has been a dedicated member of Kiwanis since 1996. Because of Michael’s unique career in the hospitality industry, he was never in one area long enough to grow with a Kiwanis Club.  He did, however, maintain a membership in Kiwanis through his career in the Florida District, Cal-Nev-Ha District, and finally in the Southwest District.

Michael has served as a Club President of the Sunshine Club of Tucson and as a Club Secretary of the Holbrook Club. He has also served as a member of the District Circle K Administrator team for the past 5 years. He also assists Governor Windy in maintaining her OurKiwanisFamily.com website.

Currently Michael is in his 2nd term as Lt. Governor for Division 9 and was selected by his fellow Lt. Governors as the Class Chairman of the Class of Lt. Governors. He is a Hixson Fellow, a Sustaining Member of the Southwest Foundation, a member of the Kiwanis International Heritage Society and a member of the Mary and Bo Shafer Legacy Society.

In the Oro Valley Club, Michael has helped recruit members to the club as the club’s membership chair. He also is very passionate about the Club’s new Builders Club and bringing Kiwanis into underserved populations.

Michael’s career as a Hotel Manager and his ability to turn failing hotels into success stories is a strong attribute and will help him in building a stronger Southwest Kiwanis.

We are excited to share Michael with the rest of the Southwest District and know he will make a wonderful Governor in the future.
